Tim Stowe is the President of Stowe Engineering, a local civil engineering firm. His wife, Lisha, is the Children’s Pastor at Crossroads Community Church. They have three adult children, with one living at home. Tim grew up in Winchester and attended high school at Randolph Macon Academy. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy Seabees and spent the next eight years providing field engineering, surveying, and construction management for large civil projects on Navy bases worldwide. In 1986 he left the Navy and attended Virginia Tech, where he earned BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering. He also spent four years teaching seniors and graduate students in the Civil Engineering Dept at Virginia Tech. While living in Blacksburg, Tim served as chairman of the Blacksburg Christian School Board, where all three of his children attended.
Tim has testified before the US Congress on four occasions concerning transportation policy, and has met with the US Secretary of Transportation twice to discuss the same. He has served as Chairman of the American Consulting Engineers Council’s Transportation Committee where he represented over 6,000 engineering firms. He has also served as Chairman of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, President of the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation, and Chairman of the Frederick County Republican Committee.
While serving in the Navy, Tim met Christ and made him Lord. Shortly after that, he deployed to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean where he was water baptized. Tim served in youth ministries for many years, including chaperoning a number of short term mission trips. Today Tim ministers with Teen Challenge, a faith-based addiction recovery ministry with a facility in Shenandoah County.
